Soon as I saw the title of this film, it became a must watch for me.
When it comes to spooky urban legends, the one where you have to travel in an elevator to different floors, all in order to open a doorway to another world is one of my faves.
It’s a creepy story, for sure. The thing is, I’m English. So to me, this tale is called Lift Game. I admit, it doesn’t have the same ring to it.
Anyways, I was dead excited to watch this film, so got me a big bucket of salted popcorn and settled down for an evening of scares. At least, I hoped it would be scary. With crossed fingers, I started shoveling popcorn into my mouth.
Elevator Game isn’t going to scare the pants off of you, but it does have a couple of decent jumpy moments, and a couple of very cool and bloody deaths.
The antagonist of Elevator Game is the Fifth-Floor Woman. Now, she is pretty freaky. The way she moves is quite unnerving. Kind of reminded me of a mash-up of The Grudge and Malignant. I thought the reason for her spooky way of walking was pretty cool, and not just a gimmick. Have to say, there were a couple of characters in the movie that were super annoying. Happily, nasty deaths removed them from the film nice and early. 😂
To be honest, lifts/elevators do give me the chills. As do staircases. Basically, I’m easily scared! So, for me, this was an enjoyable film, with some cool kills, and a spooky vengeful ghost.
Would I watch it again? Maybe.
Would I recommend it to horror peeps? Yeah, why not?!
To sum up, I liked this film, but I loved my popcorn more.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you very.
